Series 1 of the_altverse is now all posted, and hopefully you've all enjoyed reading it. The full masterlist is here if any of you would like to catch up. If any of you have e-book readers that take epub format, papilio_luna has very kindly made the entire of s1 into a book, which you can download from here.

Since we're planning on doing series 2, we are keen for your feedback on the series as a whole. This is not the place for comments on individual fics or chapters - you can find links to all of them to leave comments in the usual way in the masterlist.

Which of the following would you say was the type of fic you most enjoyed reading this series?

View Answers
Fics that were part of an arc of 2-3 (or more) episodes, that would have made very little sense without reading the previous episode.
37 (26.8%)
Fics that strongly relied on emotional material from previous fics, but were standalone in terms of plot.
53 (38.4%)
Fics that largely stood-alone, but still referenced a few things from other episodes and/or contributed a small amount to the final arc.
40 (29.0%)
Fics that were complete stand-alones with no references to others in the series.
8 (5.8%)

We've been treating this a lot like the show - calling them 'episodes' and the like. And the finished fics often took the tone of DW episodes. How do you feel about this?

View Answers
I liked it - a bit of an action/adventure romp with some D/R cuteness is just what I wanted from something acting like the TV show!
77 (47.8%)
It didn't feel much like the show to me: I was too aware it wasn't canon.
4 (2.5%)
If you're going to pretend to be the TV show, YOU CAN'T HAVE SHAGGING IN THE TARDIS.
1 (0.6%)
I would have been interested in seeing more of the sorts of things Doctor Who can't do in terms of sex and relationship stuff.
32 (19.9%)
I would have been interested in seeing more of the sorts of things Doctor Who can't do in terms of violence/angst/plotting (and am aware, having seen WoM, that "things DW wouldn't do" is basically BLOOD EVERYWHERE AND DEAD FLUFFY ANIMALS)
22 (13.7%)
I think you should have gone all the way and had OVERLY DRAMATIC "NEXT TIME" trailers at the end of each fic.
25 (15.5%)
Other (please specify in comments)
0 (0.0%)

And finally, how excited are you for series 2? (Where 1 is not at all excited and 5 is VERY EXCITED.)

Summary: In Victorian London, the Doctor and Rose find fact and fiction colliding in unexpected ways -- and with unexpected, dangerous consequences.
Author's notes: Special thanks to shinyopals who said "go for it" when I pitched the idea -- and put up with it not being finished as quickly as either of us would have hoped.

My apologies for the break between the previous part and now. Real life interfered a bit in getting the final part up and to everyone.
